Yipee for Music!

I am so thrilled to have finally adopted a violen or fiddle..which is it?  Thanks to an artist friend of mine, I now kinda own this beautiful musical instrument.  I say kinda because once I finished dressing her with  glass and paint she will go back to her "owner" at Smiley's Acoustic Cafe in Greenville, SC.  "Fiddledee" I will call her (at least for now) was a part of a group of violens that were donated to artists to paint or "dress up" and then return to Smiley's.  Long story longer---I will give her back too. sniff sniff.  But she will shine in her new digs.  I cannot wait to see how she will look.  Stay tuned!!

Oh what fun! And Fiffledee is so southern - will there be a bit of Scarlet's passion to be seen in her....

One day I hope to take a "defunct" harp and weave in the where the strings will be - what fun you'll have!

Can't wait to see what you do with your fiddle/violin.

Basically, the difference in the two is the bridge. For a violin, it's higher, thereby separating the strings, but for a fiddle its flatter so you can hit more than one string at once. I only know this because I played violin for many years and also played it as a fiddle. Haven't touched the poor thing in decades, though. I should dig it out of my parent's closet.

Thanks for the memory!
