This is a technique using the value system instead of natural colors. Quiet an abstract look but oh so fun. Portraits do not always have to be exact, it really makes it more interesting to use mosaics for texture and feel to the subject. What a great gift for someone!

OH thank you Adam and Elizabeth. I am so excited that I had comments! Yes, the project was done with Mexican Smalti which is glass. Each piece of tile is cut and shaped for placement. Almost like your beautiful paper art. Maybe I should post on my technique?
